Lone Shark

This photograph shows a lone Reef Shark swimming in the shallows late in the afternoon.  As the sun goes down "dappled" rays of light pierce the clear blue water creating a simple and beautiful scene.  Richard took this image in the Bahamas, where sharks are protected by law and thrive as a result.  Sharks generate a lot of tourist dollars for the Bahamas, making them worth a lot more alive than dead.
