About Richard
Richard Condlyffe grew up in UK and at an early age was influenced by the beautiful and educational wildlife shows of the BBC. This installed a life-long love of natural history and a curiosity to travel.
Always an avid photographer, it wasn’t until after leaving a corporate career that Richard turned full time to his photography. Always one to challenge himself and continuously improve, Richard gained a formal qualification as a professional photographer and continues to maintain that certification. This has allowed Richard to combine the technical and artistic aspects of photography to create fine art. Inspired by famous artists such as Ansel Adams, black and white can be seen as a prominent force in his fine art collection.
Richard's photographs have been awarded in many photography and art competitions around the world. Some of those images are available on this website.
Ocean conservation and in particular the plight of sharks is something Richard is passionate about. Over 100,000,000 sharks are killed each year, most unnecessarily through illegal fishing activities and the misguided consumption of shark fins that serves no nutritional or holistic benefit. Richard gives a portion of his profits to the charities he believes are doing the most to combat these terrible activities.
Richard also teaches a shark photography class, believing that every person who gets the most out of their interactions with these majestic creatures will be inspired to help their plight.
Reviews of Richard's products:
Richard recognizes that customer reviews can be an important part of the decision to make a purchase. He also sells a different selection of his work (*not Limited Editions) through the popular online art site, Etsy. His shop is called "Underwater Photo Arts" and can be accessed by clicking here. On this shop page you can read dozens of reviews from Richard's customers. (The web-hosting service for this site simply doesn't have good customer reviews ability.)
Richard's art is only available through this website and his Etsy shop - any other selling source found online is not authentic and should be avoided.
