Richard Condlyffe grew up in UK and at an early age was influenced by the beautiful and educational wildlife shows of the BBC. This installed a life-long love of natural history and a curiosity to travel.

Always an avid photographer, it wasn’t until after leaving a corporate career that Richard was able to give his photography the time he always wanted to.  Being one to challenge himself and continuously improve, Richard gained a formal qualification as a professional photographer and continues to maintain that certification.  This has allowed Richard to combine the technical and artistic aspects of photography to create fine art. Inspired by famous artists such as Ansel Adams, black and white can be seen as a prominent force in his portfolio.

Richard's photographs have been awarded in many photography and art competitions around the world. Some of those images can be viewed on this website.

Ocean conservation and in particular the plight of sharks is something Richard is passionate about. Over 100,000,000 sharks are killed each year, most unnecessarily through illegal fishing activities and the misguided consumption of shark fins that serves no nutritional or holistic benefit.

Richard also teaches a shark photography class, believing that every person who gets the most out of their interactions with these majestic creatures will be inspired to help their plight.
