Mr & Mrs
This photograph shows a pair of False Clown Anemonefish in their host anemone. Clownfish have an interesting social hierarchical structure in their lives. There is only one female, who is the highest ranking and largest fish. The largest male is second (this is the breeding male), followed by the non-breeding progressively smaller males. When the female dies, the largest male turns into the female and the largest non-breeding male moves up to become the breeding male! All clownfish are born male.
Richard took this particular shot on a reef in Papua New Guinea. The False Clown fish can be found in parts of Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, the Soloman Islands and Northern Australia.
Available in a variety of sizes as a print on fine art paper, or wall art on canvas or metal. This print is a signed, limited edition, of only 25 prints.
