Turtle Turbulence

This photograph shows an Hawaiian Green Sea Turtle that had just surfaced to breath.  At the moment Richard pressed the shutter buttom the sea turtle flapped its flippers to dive down, disturbing the surface water to create the turbulence scene in this shot.  Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles, sometimes called Honu, are a protected species in that state and their numbers thrive as a result.
